Eight players have been released by Bristol City today, including veteran goalkeeper David James.

The 41 year old ex-England international tops the list of names who have been told that they have no future at Ashton Gate,

Scotland international Jamie McAllister also leaves the club after six years of service.

Fellow Scot David Clarkson also goes, while Jamal Campbell-Ryce, who has been on loan at Leyton Orient, has also been told to seek a new club.

The others on their way out are academy graduates Christian Ribeiro, Marlon Jackson, Dan Ball and Henry Muggeridge.
