Palace manager Dougie Freedman did not have a fun filled time at Ashton Gate last night as Bristol City pulled out all the stops to show what they can do.
Taylor started the rot for the visitors, firing the Robins in front after the ball came back off the crossbar.
And, with Palace still reeling, Woolford robbed Aaron Martin and sped off to chip the keeper for number two.
Stead smashed home a penalty around the hour mark and although there was still two goals to come, that was game over for the Eagles.
‘There have been a lot of changes at our club during the summer and it will take a while for us to deal with that,’ Freedman said to reporters after the game.
‘We didn’t help ourselves tonight with some poor individual errors that gifted Bristol City some of their goals.
‘But we are a young side and learning all the time. We just need a bit of time to develop together and improve as a team.
‘You can’t afford to make the sort of errors we made in this game, but we will talk about them and hopefully move on quickly because there is a long season ahead.
‘It is always going to take a while to gel when you have a lot of injuries and new faces to integrate.’
