Pete Johnson has resigned as Bristol City chief scout and joined up once again with his brother Gary as chief scout at Peterborough United.

Hardly shocking news, Pete was at Yeovil with his brother and then followed him to Ashton Gate when he took over as City manager.

Johnson told the Peterborough official site: ‘We have a lot of quality in the coaching department and I am delighted to have added to that over the last two days. I have worked with Pete for a long time and of course I have known him all of my life!

“We sing from the same hymn sheet in regards to the player philosophy, he knows exactly what I am looking for and has done a fantastic job in finding players over the years and has been part of the three or four promotions that I have achieved. It is good on his CV and so it should because the chief scout has to do a lot of the work.

“In fact the chief scout has a vital role to play and the key aspect of that is the ‘no’s’ that they tell you. When people are panicking about how great a player is and Pete says ‘no’, I always go with his decision and he has been proved right over the years. If you can’t trust your brother, who can you trust?’
