City midfielder Lee Johnson is eyeing a push for the play-offs, after starring in the 1-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night.

The 29-year-old was recalled to the City line-up following an injury to Cole Skuse and turned in an impressive display in the centre of the park.

And after getting that elusive first home win of the season on the board against the Royals, Johnson sees no reason why the club cannot push on and aim for a top-six spot.

“It’s only one win,” he told BBC Radio Bristol. “But it’s a big win.

“It’s got the crowd back behind us and hopefully we can go from strength to strength.

“Personally speaking, we should still be pushing for the play-offs.

“It might be a bit late now but we’ve certainly got the squad to do that.”

Johnson will be hoping to retain his place in the starting line-up for the Sky-televised Championship game with Queens Park Rangers on Friday evening.
