Bristol City defender Lewin Nyatanga has no doubts that the Robins have enough strength in depth to make the top six this season.

Nyatanga, 21, has impressed at Ashton Gate since his £500,000 move from Derby in the summer and was part of the Rams squad that gained promotion to the top-flight via the Play-Off’s in 2006/07.

“We have had setbacks with injuries and illnesses but we’ve got lots of good players here who can come in and do a good job,” the Wales defender told the Press Association.

“There is real competition for places and it’s a long, hard season with a lot of games so it’s vital to have a good squad.

“The play-offs are a minimum target for us, we’re looking to get into the Premier League and we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but we set high standards.”

With over a quarter of the season gone, the Robins currently lie in 9th place, only 3 points off top spot.
