Bristol City got off to a winning start against Barnsley in the Championship but, as much as a League Cup win is being targeted this evening, changes are expected against Plymouth.

Jamie McAllister insists City are preparing for this meeting against Plymouth, promoted as runners up in League Two last season, seriously, as is the case with every game, and a win is wanted.

However, with a squad of players to select from the first team coach knows boss Lee Johnson will do just that but McAllister is confident enough those, fringe players in some instances, have enough about them to do a job.

‘The Carabao Cup match is the next game and we`ll focus and prepare for it properly. Whether it`s a league game, a cup game, a friendly or a game of table-tennis, we want to win!’ McAllister told the Official Website.

Adding: ‘We`ve got a good squad and we`ll make a few changes for tomorrow night, but we fully believe the team selected has enough to go out there and compete.’

City are without Matty Taylor and Milan Djuric, who is close to making his return, but Nathan Baker could make his second Robins debut having been forced to sit out the Barnsley win due to suspension.

Looking at Plymouth, McAllister, whatever side City go with, knows they’ll offer up a serious challenge too regardless of who lines up for the Pilgrims.

He concluded: ‘It`s a very good Plymouth team; they got promoted last year and have dangerous players across the pitch, so we need to be ready for them.’
