A bullet header from Jacob Mellis won the game for Barnsley on Saturday but they had to hang on after having Bobby Hassell sent off.

Mellis had the Tykes in front five minutes into the second half of this game and City did a lot of huffing and puffing and strung a series of chances together.

Hassell then saw red and just for a moment you could see that the Robins had their chances of getting back into the game, but it never came.

They had a hatful of chances the best of which fell to Baldock who missed a sitter.

McInnes said to reporters after the game: He said: “We`ve hit the bar, we`ve had a lot of chances and we should have had a penalty.

“We changed the system in the second half to try and combat theirs but neither worked well.

“Once they went in front they had something to hold on to and their spirit was brilliant.”
