Derek McInnes has been in touch with West Brom to make an enquiry about goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.

Now that the somewhat dubious talents of David James have gone, City are on the look-out for another keeper to make sure Dean Gerken doesn’t get too complacent with no real competition for his place between the sticks.

Myhill was with Hull City before moving to West Brom, from there he went on a season long loan to Birmingham City while Birmingham keeper Ben Foster went the other way to the Hawthorns.

West Brom are known to be keen on keeping Foster on a permanent basis which would leave Myhill with 12 months left on his contract, but really craving first team football so a move would not be out of the question.
