No Robins Deal For O’Flynn

Bristol City have decided to end their interest in out-of-contract Barnet forward John O’Flynn.

The striker has been on trial with City since the start of July and even went on the pre-season tour of Sweden where he played in all three games, finding the net once.

“John came away with us and did very well,” Coppell told the club’s official website.

“However, the good news we received about Nicky Maynard and Danny Haynes – that they don’t need surgery – means opportunities for John were limited.

“The progress these two are making means we will not be taking our relationship with John any further and we wish him well for his future career.”

Coppell had previously scouted O’Flynn playing for Cork City in Ireland at the same time he discovered Shane Long and Kevin Doyle.
