Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Dean Saunders was happy with the way his side turned things around after going a goal behind against Bristol City on Saturday.

A bizarre own goal gave the visitors the lead but after the half time break, Wolves looked a different side and notched a couple of goals of their own and ran out 2-1 winners.

Saunders revealed that he had a few choice words to say to his side at half time and there is no doubt that it seemed to do the trick.

He told reporters after the game: ‘I thought everything was going wrong. We looked lacking in confidence; we weren’t sharp around the box. We weren’t reacting to things and when the goal went in it was a calamity goal, and I am thinking ‘I can’t believe that has just happened’.’

He added: ‘Our finishing wasn’t sharp and, to be honest, I went in at half-time and had a go at everyone. I wanted some sort of reaction from them and I have to say that the character of the players has stood out yet again. Instead of lying down and dying they have come back and won the game. It was a big win.’
