Bristol City came home from Middlesbrough with an unexpected three points this afternoon after coming away from the Riverside Stadium 3-1 winners.

The win came totally out of the blue with City being in such poor form of late and Boro having a good time of things at the moment.

It was Stephen Pearson who came up with what proved to be the winning goal after 63 minutes but it was hard to see through the fog.

City took the lead when Albert Adomah fired home a shot from inside the six yard box after Joe Bryan had crossed.

But City fans had barely enough time to get over the shock before Boro took advantage of the Robins’ inability to keep a clean sheet and Ishmael Miller prodded home a corner from Grant Leadbitter.

In the second half a blanket of fog had descended onto the ground making playing conditions difficult.

Boro almost went in front when Leadbitter’s effort was tipped onto the post by Tom Heaton, he was lucky that Neil Kilkenny was on hand to clear the ball of the line.

Adomah could have had his second of the game but he saw his 20 yard shot come back off the crossbar

Pearson put City on their way to a great victory when he fired home a pass from Neil Danns before Steve Davies made sure of the points when he scored from an 89th minute counter attack.
