Bristol City defender Brian Wilson’s luck has taken another turn for the worse as he now looks like being out of action again for at least two months after fracturing his tibia.

The former Cheltenham utility player went under the knife back in March to cure a shin splints problem, but managed to get back into the first-team earlier this season after a full pre-season.

But the 26-year-old lasted only two minutes in a reserve game against Bournemouth earlier this week and City are sending the Manc for a second scan where it is expected to confirm a fracture to his shin bone.

“Everyone’s gutted for him and it’s been a difficult few weeks,” said manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk.

“He suffered a bereavement in the family and now this has happened after only a couple of minutes playing for the reserves.

“The first scan showed up a fracture on his shin bone but we’re going to get a second scan just to make sure.

“We need to help him because it’s been a tough time for him,”
Johnson added.
