Bristol City could be set to announce that Andre Blackman has left the club, after only joining in the summer.
Highly-rated Blackman, 18, joined City from Pompey in June in the hope of regular first-team football after coming through the ranks at Arsenal and Spurs.
But three months after penning a two-year deal at Ashton Gate, the Londoner is set to have his contract ripped up for a breach of club discipline – allegedly for being caught driving without a full licence.
Manager Gary Johnson refused to go into detail at his weekly press conference on Thursday but said on the speculation: “I would like to say something, but I can’t.
“Things will come out when they need to. People will be informed in the next few days.”
Johnson’s quotes, mixed with the fact Blackman also missed the 6-2 reserve win over Swindon in midweek, haved fueled rumours of an impending departure.
The rumours will come as a shock to City supporters, who are already scratching our heads at the lack of natural leftie’s in our squad right now.
Blackman ss regarded as a hot prospect down the left-side but has only made two Carling Cup appearances for the Robins.
We will of course bring you more on this story as and when it breaks.
