Bristol City have confirmed the signing of Plymouth Argyle winger Yannick Bolasie for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has signed a two-year contract at Ashton Gate after agreeing terms and passing a medical last week.

City are believed to have picked up Bolasie for a bargain-basement fee of under £50,000 and boss Keith Millen was understandably delighted with his first piece of business this summer.

“When I heard he was available, I was really excited,” Millen told thisisdevon.co.uk. “I saw it as a fantastic opportunity for us to bring in a really exciting player for a snip.

“Players like Bolasie don’t become available at that price very often and it was simply too good an opportunity to turn down.

“Not only is he a bit quicker than Albert, he is also more powerful.

“Yannick is the kind of player who can come on and make a difference, someone who can potentially change a game.”

The deal was held up as both City boss Keith Millen and the Football League secretary were on holiday, but the move was swiftly ratified as both men returned to their desks on Monday.
