Yesterday evening saw Bristol City confirm that talented young winger Jonny Smith had headed out for a loan spell with Tranmere Rovers.
👏 Best of luck to @JonnySmith_11, who heads out on loan to @TranmereRovers for the 2018/19 season.

Prior to the move going through, the 20-year-old signed a new contract at Ashton Gate keeping him with us until the summer of 2020. He then headed for Prenton Park and he will remain with them on a deal until the end of the 2018/19 campaign. We do however hold a break clause on the day which comes into play in the January transfer window if the spell doesn’t quite work out how we’d hope.
He did have a successful spell out with AFC Fylde in 2017/18 though.
If initial expectations are anything to go off, the reason we’d potentially recall him in 2019 is if we decided it was better for his development to test himself at a higher level, as the youngster went straight into their squad for last night’s friendly against Liverpool and he only went and found the back of the net.
All the best Jonny ????????

With well wishes for his spell away, I doubt he expected to make such an impact though.
👏 Didn't take long, ey @JonnySmith_11 https://t.co/hLOPdo5L3v

Given the manner of the goal from reports, it’s safe to say it didn’t take long for fans to start talking about concussion!
