Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill was in no doubt that the win over Leyton Orient on Tuesday night was the best since he took over at the club.

City took the lead early doors through Sam Baldock and by the time the clock had eleven minutes on it they had doubled their lead through Tyrone Barnett.

City had the ball in the net for a third time but it was ruled out for a foul and the only downer of the night came when Lisbie grabbed a goal back for the home side just before the half time whistle.

But in the second half Aden Flint had nerves settled again when he netted the Robin’s third.

Cotterill praised his side, saying to reporters: “I`m really pleased for our fans. We had a fantastic following and they can have a happy journey home. They have not had too many of those this season.

“I`d like to say a big thank you to the players for putting in a terrific performance. It is always a tough game against Orient and with this being our sixth game in 18 days, it has been really taxing on the players.

“I thought the boys were magnificent and their team spirit and character really showed through.’

City have a chance to really put a gap between themselves and the relegation places when they face Tranmere Rovers at Ashton Gate on Saturday
