Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade watched his side go down at home to Bristol City and declared himself really disappointed as it began to dawn that auto promotion may pass them by.

City were two goals up inside 11 minutes with strikes from Sam Baldock and Tyrone Barnett.

And even though the O’s pulled a goal back through Lisbie before the half time break, Aden Flint killed the game off with a third for the Robins on 76 minutes.

Slade addressed reporters after the game and said: ‘We’re really disappointed. The first half an hour was poor and the goals we conceded weren’t like us. We were better second half and unlucky not to draw level when it was 2-1.

‘The next goal was crucial and we didn’t get it. I still trust this group but we need to get this wobble out of our system sooner rather than later’

Orient remain in third place in the league despite the defeat but now leaders Brentford and second placed Wolves both have a game in hand that they will be keen to capitalise on.

At the weekend, Slade takes his side to face Preston at Deepdale knowing that they must win.
