Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill has spoken about the injuries to midfielder Marvin Elliott admitting that the player could be out for the rest of the season.

Elliott has a fractured ankle as well as a broken hand picked up in the game against Oldham at the weekend, he also took a bruise to the head although it’s the ankle injury that proves to be the major problem.

Speaking to BBC Radio Bristol, Cotterill said: ‘It looks like we won’t have him for the rest of the season.

‘I feel sorry for him, he’s a good boy. He can’t even use crutches because of his hand.

‘It’s a blow for me and the dressing room but, more importantly, it’s a blow for the boy because I think he was enjoying himself.’

Long-serving Elliott, who has made 30 appearances for the Robins this season, is out of contract in the summer.
