It was being reported yesterday that Bristol City were still weighing up their decision on Bosnia and Herzegovina striker Milan Djuric after we received an offer for his services.

Over the weekend Bristol Live reported that Italian second division side Salernitana had contacted the club over his availability as manager Angelo Fabiani was a big fan of the former Parma striker in his previous years in the country, but with a decision still to be given, the outlet were confident that head coach Lee Johnson wasn’t ready to lose the 28-year-old still believing that he would have a big impact for us if he can sort out his fitness issues.

Since arriving at Ashton Gate as a free agent in January 2017 he has only started ten matches, making a further 21 appearances from the bench. That has seen a return of five goals, however. A better potential example of his talent is that he’s scored seven goals in 14 international matches but last season he underwent two operations to correct a long-running niggle he had in his groin.

He would be the proverbial new signing if we can get and keep him fit in 2018/19.

He could be an asset if we can get him fit, and clearly, Johnson is a fan but does there come a point when you cut losses and give the man a fresh start? He did get minutes in our recent friendly though so maybe his bad luck is over?
